Cradled in His Lap

Hopeful, content, innocent & bright

Resting, playing, free & light

Tiny wings so delicate & soft

Cheerful noises carried aloft

Among the angels perched high above

Thriving, prospering, growing in His love

Dancing, singing, rejoicing on high

Beyond the silver lining, invisible to the human eye

Living, laughing, peaceful & free; worshipping among God’s people

Where you will one day be

Adopted by the Father, the creator of the earth

Welcomed home by Jesus, an angel at birth

Dedicated to my friends, Kim & Scott, in honor of their baby boy:  Caleb Calvin Woods, December 12, 2011.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints,” Psalm 116:15.
