How is it possible for someone to believe in God but not in his word? I don’t understand it. Isn’t accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior the hardest part? To believe that the son of God died for our sins and rose again is a big step. But how then, can the same person not believe in the written word of God and the power of prayer? If faith does not move mountains and prayer does not call down power from Heaven then why pray? What is the point of Christianity if the Bible is not true, if God’s promises cannot be claimed by ALL of his children? Why live a life pleasing to God if he does not unconditionally love each and every one of his children and call them to a life of blessings? I am so saddened by the realization that some fellow believers are not walking in truth. That the enemy has succeeded in tricking them into believing that the word of God is not living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword. The word of God is a weapon! It can be used to bring peace and strength, to heal the sick, and provide protection and joy. Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
I pray that those who have given their lives to God would come to know him. That they would fall in love with him and hide his word in their hearts. That the word of God would dwell in them richly transforming them from the inside out. That their faith would grow and not fail them. That the veil would be lifted from their eyes and that they would have the mind of Christ. That the meditations of their hearts and the words of their mouths would be pleasing in God’s sight. I pray that they would fear the Lord because fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; and wisdom is understanding. Amen!
